CAN A GIRL BECOME AN ENGINEER
EGG DROP MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
Members learned about Afrofuturism and its connection to the Black Panther movie, more specifically the character Shuri. They learned about the Law of Reflection and how it is used to make holograms or Pepper's Ghost. Our members got to create their own holograms using few materials and a YouTube 3D hologram video. They experimented with different size pyramids and image and learned the importance of breaking stereotypes and embracing that a scientist can be a young woman of color.
Members designed and built a structure that held the most weight. The winning structure became the weight-bearing structure that was most cost-effective.
